Life on the Road with Jackery

Summary: Matt, Kyla, and their 3-year-old daughter Indi have embarked on an extraordinary journey, living in a camper van, travelling across Europe. Balancing work and exploration, Matt's involvement in festivals and Kyla's graphic design career enrich their travels. A key companion is The Jackery Explorer 240 Portable Power Station, a reliable and essential power source efficiently supporting their daily needs and work, on the move. This narrative captures their unique lifestyle, highlighting their aspirations to traverse the globe, before wanting to set up their own eco-friendly campsite.

1. Who are you, and what is your background?

Hi, we are Matt, Kyla and our 3-year-old daughter Indi. We moved full time into our camper van in April and have been travelling around Europe since then. Matt works at festivals throughout the summer and Kyla is a Graphic Designer.

2. How did you come across Jackery, and could you share what motivated your initial Jackery purchase?

>> We were researching for months on a back-up power source that we could carry around, but also use as a back-up to charge mobiles and MacBooks so we can work even when our main solar set up was low. The price and extras were a huge selling point. We have the Explorer 240, carry case and the 100W Solar Panel, and it has been fantastic. Great size, great weight and easy to use.

3. What do you enjoy doing, and how has Jackery helped you?

Our Jackery product has been extremely useful, greatly aiding our work and providing a sense of security. Its reliable power supply keeps our essential devices running smoothly, supporting both our job and leisure activities. It's an essential tool that enhances our nomadic lifestyle, giving us the freedom to work and relax effectively while on the move.

4. What kind of vehicle do you have? And what is your favourite memory from out on your adventures?

We have a converted Mercedes Sprinter van which we name Savanah. Our favourite memory so far is travelling through France, Spain and Portugal sitting on the beach with our Jackery Explorer 240 enjoying music, working and recording videos. Because of the back-up power that we have, we always have enough charge on our phones, cameras and editing equipment, so we can still share our travels with our friends and families.

5. What is your lifestyle like? And is there any goal you would like to achieve?

Our lifestyle is all about embracing the freedom and beauty of the open road. We aim to explore as much of the world as we can in our trusty van. Our ultimate goal is to gather rich experiences from our travels before settling down to establish our own campsite and eco community, a dream that aligns with our love for nature and sustainable living. The Jackery Explorer 240, with its solar charging capability, will be instrumental in this journey, offering us a reliable power source in remote locations.

6. What do you love about Jackery?

We absolutely adore the Jackery for its user-friendly design. It's easy to operate and charges quickly, which is essential for our on-the-go lifestyle. The build quality is robust, standing up to the rigours of road travel, and the pricing is very competitive. Another feature we find particularly useful is the ability to charge directly from the USB port on the solar charger, enhancing our energy independence.

7. What is one feature you wish Jackery could have?

If we could enhance one aspect of the Jackery, it would be the addition of a USB-C socket alongside the existing USB-B. As more of our equipment transitions to USB-C, having this feature would streamline our charging process and reduce our reliance on adapters, making our setup even more efficient.

8. Do you have any advice for someone looking to start a similar lifestyle?

>> For those considering this lifestyle, our advice is straightforward: take the leap. It may seem daunting initially, but embracing a slower-paced, nomadic life can be incredibly rewarding. The transition brings a unique sense of freedom and simplicity that you'll likely find is one of the best decisions you've ever made.

9. Anything else you would like to share?

The Jackery Explorer 240 portable power station has been a blessing. We don’t have a large electrical set up in our van due to space, and the Explorer 240 has provided all the power we need and given us peace of mind. Not only that, we have already had friends purchase their own after seeing how we use it and how well they work.
