Dust and dirt on the surface should first be removed using a soft brush. Use a damp cloth to wipe the surface of the solar module to remove any remaining dust or dirt. Any guano or other adhesive should be removed as soon as possible from the solar surface to avoid a reduction in performance.
Yes, the product meet IP68 water proof, which maximize the lifespan of the module, it should not get wet.
Good product and produces a lot of power
I’ve just bought my final two Solar Panels. The sun is not particularly strong at this time of year, but they appear to work well. Helped by gathering energy on both sides of the panels, and having a sun direction indicator built in. Looking forward to their full potential in the summertime.
The device works as it should. I find the legs to be not so strong and good as the could be and this needs to be improved in the future
I have 3 sets of the 200w solar panel and look to get 3 more. I'm building out a 2000+ max size solar generator to looking towards the multiple batteries, panels etc. Believe it or not, this is to provide emergency power for a remote satellite ground station. The Jackery panels are much more efficient, waterproof and solidly made. I'm an electrical engineer and former NASA scientist for what it's worth. Praise comes hard from me.
I initially purchased the solar Saga 200 Watt as part of a starter kit to provide emergency power back up during a grid outage. Over the past week I have used the solar panels to charge a Jackery Explorer 2000 plus and extension battery that were used to back off the hotel load on my home, a 3 bed cottage in south west England. I have to say that I am well impressed. With the sun in a cloudless sky from 10:00 to 17:30 BST over the past 5 days the panels constantly produced between 185 and 230 Watts output. It is worth adjusting the angle and direction to maximise output, but this is only necessary 2 or 3 times throughout the day. I intend to purchase another three of these panels for the future. With a single 200 Watt folding array its takes around 4.5 hrs to charge the battery from 40% to full charge. The sun is not particularly strong at the moment but with summer approaching then the output should increase greatly.
